Cloverfield = lives up to hype…thank goodness.  I was slightly worried that it would not as there was quite a bit of hype with the weekly release of new information from the viral marketing campaign behind the movie, but it is a solid movie.  Is it the best movie ever?  No.  Is it worth paying $9 ($12 for you city people) to go see?  Absolutly.  The 1st person perspective gives a fresh take on monster movies and adds a difficult to describe level of tension/suspense/thrill that pushes the movie for the entire hour of monster (first 20 minutes are character building).  It’s definitely a thrill ride and it’s one of the few movies that I will probably see more than once at the theater as I know I missed a ton of detail the first time I saw it.  GO SEE CLOVERFIELD!
